This Spring Break my friend and I had the chance to go to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. We went for 5 days and stayed at an all-inclusive resort. The beaches were beautiful, and the hotel and everything else was great. Hope you enjoy the photos!

- Although I'm not usually into touristy hotels/places it is probably best to stay at a tourist resort when visiting the Dominican Republic.
- Learn basic Spanish! Although I'm fluent in Spanish the friend that I went with wasn't and she had some difficulty interacting with the hotel staff/people in general. Most of the staff at our hotel knew some English, but it was still hard to communicate.
- Stay at an all-inclusive resort. The resort my friend and I stayed at included literally everything- all meals, snacks, drinks(alcoholic and non). On our last day we decided to have lunch at a Dominican restaurant right outside our hotel on the beach. One of the servers at the restaurant said we could sit on beach chairs on the beach for free and they would bring us our food. We thought this was great. However, 2 pina coladas, and one uneaten pizza later we received the bill and were completely shocked to see that we had to pay $74!! After some bargaining with the server he took off the cost of the beach chairs(which he said were free to begin with??) and we ended up paying $59. Still completely overpriced for 2 drinks and a pizza.
- As said above, stay an at all-inclusive resort, and try not to leave it. The locals there can tell you are a tourist straight away and they will try to rip you off. If you do go off the resort make sure to stay somewhat near it and to know the exchange rate between US dollars and the Dominican peso.
- Overall, enjoy it! The beaches are beautiful and the water is amazing. While you're there do a water activity or take a boat ride, drink coconut water right from the coconut, eat fresh fruits from vendors on the beach, and take tons of pictures!!
